Many University vehicles, including all the shuttle buses, are fueled with a blend of Biodiesel and Ultra-low Sulfur Diesel. Biodiesel is made from renewable resources like soybeans, and it's made right here in the USA which lowers dependence on foreign oil. Ultra-low Sulfur Diesel is cleaner- burning and produces far fewer particulate emissions than conventional diesel.

The tires on all University medium and heavy-duty vehicles are recapped an average of three to four times. Recapping, or re-treading, just one tire saves fifteen gallons of oil that would have been used to produce a new one. Plus, the process saves precious landfill space.
