Call Center Services
The University Operations Center is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week 365 day a year facilities response and emergency call center. The Operations Center provides round the clock call center services for the Harvard Community and over 400 properties. The Operations Center is staffed with 9 well-trained Workstation Operators (at least 2 on every shift) and a Supervisor on each shift. Collectively the Operations Center receives close to 125,000 facility-related calls each year. The calls range from routine facilities work requests such as an HVAC, electrical or plumbing issue to a facility emergency such as a fire, flood or elevator entrapment. The Operations Center initiates work requests and logs all calls and requests for service. The UOS Daily News and Auto-Email system is a daily log of all calls and critical alarms for campus buildings that can be customized by call priority and building.
The Operations Center also maintains an online contact and building procedures database known as FINS (Facilities Incident Notification System). Facility managers can update and create building specific protocols for a wide variety of building related incidents.
The Operations Center also maintains a DigSafe notification system for emergency and non-emergency DigSafe requests.
