Building Automation
The University Operations Center maintains and monitors various Building Automation Systems. Activities include management and monitoring of building Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and critical alarm points. The Operations Center provides round-the-clock monitoring and control of building alarms and will make necessary notifications based on alarm thresholds. As a result, buildings can be monitored and controlled by trained staff 24 hours a day. Critical alarms include lb facilities, computer rooms, gas alarms and other critical heating and cooling utilities. The Operations Center monitors several types of systems including Siemens Automation Systems, Johnson Controls and Honeywell Building Management.
The Facilities Incident Notification System (FINS) allows building managers to update protocols and building emergency contacts for critical alarms and automation system work requests.
