Overview
E&U provides coordination between the University and the cities of Cambridge and Boston on issues relating to utilities, utility projects, building code compliance, and municipal permit coordination. The department acts as a resource on interpretation of codes and regulations, and facilitates numerous permitting and licensing processes for University facilities, including occupancy, liquor, places of assembly, tents, etc. Additionally, E&U manages the permitting processes associated with all internal electrical work performed by UOS trades.
