The Occupational Safety Group consists of a team of safety professionals with the training, experience and equipment necessary to support the University's mission of teaching and research. Our goal is to eliminate hazards and reduce risks for employees, faculty and students.
The Occupational safety structure is a three-tiered Safety and Health Management System consisting of University-level Safety and Health Standards, Safety and Health Programs at the school and department level and Safety and Health Plans at the local level. The Programs and Plans are customized to meet the specific needs of each school, department or sub-department and they contain requirements for safety training, safety committees and workplace inspections.
The Occupational Safety Group is available to perform training, answer specific questions on a range of issues and to assist with implementation of the Safety and Health Management System.
