Sink Disposal & Logs
The RPO does not recommend the use of sink disposal as the primary means of radioactive waste disposal. If your sink is posted by the RPO, secondary liquid waste can be released to the sanitary sewer provided the release is within the applicable radionuclide's sink disposal limit. Make a reasonable estimate of the radioactivity and log it on the sink disposal record which should be posted. Flush the sink with water for at least 5 minutes after disposing of radioactive material and survey the sink to make sure there is no residual material.
