Liquid Scintillation Packaging Guidelines
Segregate waste by radionuclide e.g., 32P125I35S3H14C
Collect segregated, tightly-capped scintillation vials in double bagged 4 mil plastic bags. Pack no more than 200 large vials or 400 mini-vials per container. Collect scintillation vials with 14C and 3H in one bag and segregate the vials with activity with less than 0.05 uCi per mL from those with more than 0.05 uCi per mL. Use tape or the completed radiation waste tag to close the bag. Specify the brand name of the scintillation fluid on the waste tag.
