Warning Signs and Labels
All signs and labels must comply with ANSI Z 136.1 (1993) and the FDA/CDRH standards. Laser equipment labels indicate the laser class, wavelength, and the output power/energy of the laser system. The laser aperture (beam exit port) must be identified. Laboratories using class 2, 3, or 4 lasers are posted at each entry with the appropriate signage as indicated below. Post laboratories using class 3b and 4 lasers by the entranceways outside the facility with a lighted sign indicating the laser "ON" status to warn personnel of the presence of laser radiation.
