When do you need a pest control contractor?
  • When you have an emergency pest problem and you do not know how to proceed. Wasps, rats indoors and bats are common emergencies.
  • When you are required by law to have a pest control service contract. Medical research facilities and new construction and demolition projects are examples.
  • After you have identified the pest, understood its biology and basics of control, and have attempted non-chemical efforts on your own.

How do you chose a pest control contractor?

  • Membership in professional organizations.
  • Referral from respected customers.
  • Checked out with the Pesticide Bureau.

What to look for in a pest control contract

  • Guaranees and claims of safety.
  • Sample labels and fact sheets.
  • Record keeping issues.
  • Notification.
