| Longwood and Southborough laboratories maintain online inventories of current stock -- chemical, pharmaceutical, biological, and radiological. Kept up-to-date, the inventories, and entry door placards reflecting the same, serve public safety personnel and private remediation companies responding to onsite emergencies. Inventory summaries, accessible only to those who create them, may be used by the labs themselves as an educational tool. At the same time, EHS may query the database and tally the use of specific hazards to better meet the demands of local, state, and federal regulatory bodies. |
Cambridge Campus, Concord Field Station, Harvard Forest, and Rowland Institute laboratories utilize the Stanford University ChemTracker Program, for door signage and chemical inventory management. Harvard University is one of 28 academic member organizations participating in the ChemTracker Consortium; the higher education collaborative for chemical inventory management. |
