Chronic Back Pain
Chronic pain is measured by duration — pain that persists for more than 3 months is considered chronic. It is often progressive and the cause can be difficult to determine.
Chronic back pain is often described as a deep aching or dull burning pain in the back or traveling down the legs. Symptoms may be tingling, burning, numbness or a pins-and-needs sensation in the legs. Day to day activities is often too difficult or impossible to perform. Chronic back pain may result from a previous injury, or can be due to an ongoing cause, such as nerve damage or arthritis.
