Controlling Energy Consumption
- Install fluorescent lights.
- Install energy saving appliances.
- Turn water heaters to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Make windows airtight.
- Post signs the motive facility users to use resources responsibly.
Minimizing Water Use
- Install low flow toilets
- Install low flow showerheads.
- Encourage facility users to report leaking faucets.
Increasing Recycling
- Place recycling receptacles next to all trashcans.
- Clearly label which receptacles are for trash and which are for recycling.
- Post signs that identify which items can be recycled.
- Make possible and encourage recycling of non-traditional objects such as computers, electronics, and fluorescent bulbs.
