Hazardous Waste Labeling Tool
This database contains a list of common hazardous wastes and waste mixtures generated by laboratory processes. Many of these waste mixtures contain chemical constituents that are incompatible however, these mixtures are the product of controlled lab processes and reactions.
Do not assume any of the constituent chemicals in these waste mixtures are compatible. Mixing incompatible chemicals can result in heat generation, pressurization, violent polymerization, toxic, flammable gas generation, fire or explosion.

You can determine chemical compatibility by consulting the substance's Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDSs) and/or the following resources:
- Hazardous Waste Storage Compatibility Briefs
- EPA Chemical Compatibility Chart
- Mallinckrodt Specialty Chemicals Co.'s Chemical Compatibility List
- RCRA Chemical Waste Compatibility List
In addition, you may need to use the Chemical Reactivity Worksheet. This tool, developed by National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), allows you to determine potential reactivity of substances and mixtures.
