If soil excavation occurs below the groundtable and the work involves collection and discharge of groundwater into a stormwater or sewer system, certain regulatory requirements and permits are required. |
Groundwater Management
Will the work disturb more than 1 acre of land, either as a single project or as part of a larger plan of development? Stormwater Management
Will the work involve the demolition and/or renovation of a building or portion of a building? If demolition and/or renovation of a building or portion of a building is being conducted, then an environmental audit must be performed in order to identify and quantify any building materials that require special handling and/or disposal due to their intrinsic make-up. These materials include asbestos containing items (floor tiles, wallboard, insulation, etc.), lead-based paint, and other miscellaneous hazardous materials (light ballasts, capacitors, transformers, fluorescent bulbs, a/c units, underground storage tanks, etc.). |

Will the work involve the removal of underground storage tanks and/or the installation of air emission sources or geothermal wells? If certain building components or systems are being installed as part of renovation or building construction, then specific guidelines must be followed to ensure that the installation conforms to all applicable regulations and with University permit requirements. |
