CAPS PROJECT MANAGEMENT - Environmental Health & Safety
As part of the CAPS approval process, all project managers must full complete steps 1 and 2 below. Step 1 simply involves downloading the EH&S General Design Criteria Manual for sign-off by the Architect. Step 2 involves cycling through a series of EH&S issues to determine their applicability to a specific project.

Project Specific EH&S Issues During Design |
| The EH&S Department has prepared an Environmental, Health & Safety General Design Criteria manual to ensure that architects, engineers, and designers working at the University will design and deliver buildings that provide a safe and healthy environment for building occupants and maintenance personnel. For all CAPS projects, the architect/designer is required to review and sign off on this manual to ensure that specific University requirements and recommendations related to EH&S issues are incorporated into the design process. |
The EH&S Department has also prepared detailed support documents for EH&S issues that need to be addressed during designed based on the specific conditions of a project. All Project Managers need to complete the attached questionnaire and then download and utilize the corresponding tools (e.g., Request for Proposals for environmental auditing services, lists of design consultants, template design specifications, lists of contractors, etc), for every issue that is identified for a specific project. |
