Applied Technologies

Appropriate Use of Technology Policy

The University provides technology to employees for the purpose of accomplishing the employee's essential job duties. University technology may include, but is not limited to, software, hardware, telephone and data networks, internet access and service providers, and/or any other technology property to which an employee has or may obtain access.

University Operations Services employees are to use University property for purposes related to the performance of their job duties. The use of University technology for purposes inconsistent with the professional business practice of UOS is strictly prohibited. The misuse of University technology diminishes the professional performance standards required of UOS employees and may create a hostile work environment for others. Specifically,

Violation of this policy is a serious offense and is subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

It is the responsibility of all UOS employees to ensure that such unacceptable behaviors do not occur, and that any and all incidents are promptly reported. Employees will report incidents of misuse or suspected misuse of University technology immediately to their supervisor, Service Group Director, or Office of the Associate Vice President for Facilities and Environmental Services.

It is the responsibility of UOS management to fully address any incident or alleged incident of unacceptable behavior.
